Ellie's Baptism

January 27th, 2013: Ellie's Baptism into the Catholic Church
Location: Incarnate Word Catholic Church in Chesterfield, MO

We all attended 12:15 mass at IW.  Then dressed Ellie in Sarah and my baptismal gown and headed to the front of the church where we met up with Deacon Larry Stallings.  He performed the Rite in about 30 minutes.  Ellie did well.  She was a little fussy at first, but enjoyed having the water poured onto her head!  She was quite noisy throughout the last 10 minutes of the baptism, which the rest of the family enjoyed!  We headed back to our home afterwards where we enjoyed family, cake, and tried to control Baxie!

Ellie's 2-3 Months

My last month at home with Ellie, we had many visitors, some fun shopping trips, great snuggles and of course...LOTS of pictures!

Ellie started the year 2013 spoiling us!  She would sleep 8-9 hours the first week, then was up to 10-11 hours by week two.  Amazing! All this great sleep to prep me for heading back to work...until the night before I had to start back.  Ellie decided to wake me up every 3 hours!  Wow...that first day, January 14th, was rough!  I left the house by 6:45.  Ellie's Oma is going to watch her every Monday.  This definitely helped to ensure a smooth transition for us.  I of course called her a couple times throughout the day just to check in.  Ellie did great!

Drop offs at daycare were a bit tough for me, so Chris took ownership on those daily activities!  Ellie did great.  She loves the infant teacher!

Month #2

Month 2:

By her two month checkup, she weighed 10 lb 13oz and measured 23.5" long.  Her weight was 50th percentile and height 90th percentile. I can't believe how much she has already changed.  She is wide-eyed and smiling all the time!  Right at 6 weeks, Ellie started smiling back at us.  Best, most beautiful smile in the world!  I think her favorite spot is laying on the changing table...she coos, smiles, talks a ton!  She also likes to wait until she has a fresh diaper before going #2.

Ellie has had a few nights of sleeping through the night!  It all started around 8 weeks, we had her in the swing one night and she went 8 hours.  Chris normally takes the “late shift”, hanging out with Ellie in the family room while I sleep in the bedroom.  When she wakes up, he’ll wake me up to feed her and then he heads to bed.  I try to then get her to sleep, normally in the little bouncer, and bring her to the bedroom.  If she wakes in the middle of the night, Chris will try to console her but most of the time she’s hungry or wants to be walked around the house and soothed.  I definitely spoiled her…she LOVES to be held and walked.  I honestly don't know how Chris does it...soothes her, keeps such great patience when he has to be SO tired.

 We celebrated Baxie's birthday on 12/18/2012.  Two years old...and still a puppy!

And then...The Best Christmas Ever!  

 We went to visit Santa at Plaza Frontenac with the Spiegels and Bohlings!  Ellie was awake at the beginning, the slept through the rest of the fun!

 Holidays are always so much fun because we are blessed with so much family!  We normally celebrate Christmas Eve with the immediate family at Oma's and Opa's.  Christmas morning we head to Uncle Bill's normally for breakfast with the Buffa side.  Then we get to visit with Grandpa Vogt and the extended Vogt side around 11AM.  After that we head back to Oma and Opa's home for Christmas with the Hustells.  Then, for the last event, we head for Christmas Night (dessert!) at Great Aunt Carla and Uncle Mike's home!  

Ellie was definitely spoiled this year with all these great clothes, books, the Christmas Angel, Raggedy Ann, a few tutus, a lovey, and a sledding Snoopy!
